To connect or set in position a roofing system made from organic shingles (generally made from paper and saturated with asphalt for waterproofing purposes) or fiberglass shingles.  Asphalt shingle roofs usually last longer in colder climates and their durability is measured by their warranty, which can range from 20 years to 50 years. Thermal shock (temperature drops quickly in a short time period) can be very damaging to the shingles, so be sure to check for repair issues at least once a year.
